The Monastic Journal - Thomas Merton From earliest times, everything has been moving and changing. There is nothing that has ‘always been the same’! People, ideas, societies and cultures, even religions and their dogmas, have been undergoing a process of development. Aware of the ‘too-much-ness’ in our lives and the fast pace we live, we desire to get a better handle on our place in the larger story. This weekend retreat invites participants to explore and name the important aspects of their lives which are changing and then to move toward a more reflective and contemplative way of being – with ourselves, with God and with one another. Our time will include elements of contemplation, conversation, silence, and ritual for each one personally and together as a group. |
